No, CPA requires (in MI) two years of work with a CPA firm and an examination. I work in the tax department of a public company (Masco) and even if I take CPA exam I will not be certified as a CPA unless I get the requisite experience (ne hochu, ne hochu, ne hochu :). Once I am done with my masters this December I'll be an MST (also sounds important, which is good enough for me :).
