Kerry-shmerry

Hey, you know what?
This sun of a bun gave up!  I mean, he gave up, he made a speech

He surrendered. Before the votes were counted.

Fucking loser!

I am actually subscribed to John Kerry's newsletter, and here is what he said,

"In America, it is vital that every vote counts, and that every vote be counted. But the outcome should be decided by voters, not a protracted legal process. I would not give up this fight if there was a chance that we would prevail. But it is now clear that even when all the provisional ballots are counted, which they will be, there won't be enough outstanding votes for our campaign to be able to win Ohio. And therefore, we cannot win this election."

Perhaps this makes Kerry's decision more understandable.

That's a good point.

However, one should not forget that Kerry belongs to the same group Gore Vidal calls the "property party". As Mr Vidal put it, "In the US we have one party,- the Property Party,- with two rigth wings,- Republican and Democrat". (quoting from memory)

We ain't got no real opposition in this country,- which, frankly, especially at the moment, makes it all the more frightening.

Well, maybe he was right as in reasonable, but I don't trust Kerry anymore. If he ever runs ANYTHING, from Senate to local Dunkin Doughnut's Club, I will never vote for him.

We had a talk with a lawyer from a neighborhood, who told me he is for Bush, and here is the reason:
"Well, - he said, - I promise you to vote for Kerry if you name two things he did for his state - MAssachusetts - during his 10 years in Senate. SOmething you know. You don't, huh? I have no reasons to suppose he will do more for his country then he does for his state".
I caught myself agreeng with him. OR course, I hate Bush way too much not to vote against him, but Jesus, KErry sucks...

Well, I can tell you what Kerry did for the peole of Massachusetts as a prosecutor. He seriously weakened (if not outright destroyed) a vicious crime group,- the Winter Hill gang that was running racket in Somerville and around it.

As for the rest of that lawyer's argument,- he may have his facts right, but he is also forgetting something,- Kerry did not fuck up even nearly as many times as Bush did. And the list of Bush's fuck-ups runs too long for me to type here. Should I just mention a couple of bankrupted businesses, 152 people executed in TX (some with a clear reason for appeal), all his fuckups as President, and probably a hundred or so other things I am not even aware of:)

Kerry? How? What did he do against the gang?
Now, that becomes expremely interesting. Do you know any details?

Well, I guess we just need some mor efuckups for people to realize that anything would be better then Bush (Kerry including). I so wish there was an impeachment! Imagine him caught in the middle of a black mass... thta would so beat Monica Levinski:))

What do you mean by "a black mass". Sorry, didn't get that part.

As for Kerry's career,- he was District Attorney for the Middlesex County back in the 1980's, I think. As you can see, I don't know too many details,- but while DA, he successfully prosecuted enough people and arranged for enough of them to be taken off the streets to make the Winter Hill gang much less effective. That's all I can recall at the moment. Also, I read his book,- I think it is called "The New War",- where he addresses the issue of globalization and its effects on crime and terrorism (not that the two can be easily separated, really). Written in 1997 (or thereabouts), the book lays out details for how something like 9/11 can be facilitated with an amazing precision. He also is quite frank about how unprepared the law enforcement is, both domestcally and internationally, to deal with the new reality. I think he makes a lot of sense,- sure knows a whole lot more about how to fight crime than the Bush Administration, who either allowed 9/11 to happen through incompetence, or even were involved to some degree or other.
