Kerry-shmerry

Hey, you know what?
This sun of a bun gave up!  I mean, he gave up, he made a speech

He surrendered. Before the votes were counted.

Fucking loser!

He did the right thing - the popular vote chose president Bush. I am proud that the man I voted for chose not to attempt to become a president based on a technicality of the electoral college.

Electoral College is not a technicality. It's living reality, it's the LAW OF THE LAND, it's the way this country was set up by the founding fathers!

I agree with concession though.

there were no chances even with provisional ballots returns. he did the right thing - he conceded when the common sense required it.

And how about vote rigging? I commented on this here:

http://psina.blogspot.com/2004/09/voting-disenfranchisement-appears-to.html
http://psina.blogspot.com/2004/11/election-has-not-yet-started.html

There are a few more articles on the same topic (vote manipulation/voter disenfranchisement) in the same blog.

to all

Folks, I know, I know...
But it is LOSERY to give up before you are officially pronounced loser. Was he afraid to face it or what?
I mean, this is about his face, about how people perceive him. We voted for someone who is ready to withdraw before he played each and every card in the deck?

What if it turns out that Bush falsified some states, where people really voted for Kerry? We don't know yet that this is not true, but how can you withdraw before you know?

Look, it is like law. If the case sucks, don't take it, if you did, fight it.

Am I right?

I don't think that a concession speech is legally binding. If foul play is revealed, Kerry can reenter the race.

BUSH: 274 - 58,878,564 (51% total)
KERRY: 252 - 55,310,082 (48% total)

so close... I agree, Kerry is responsible before his supporters, how dare he to quit and abandon the hope and legal rights. that sucks.

I am actually subscribed to John Kerry's newsletter, and here is what he said,

"In America, it is vital that every vote counts, and that every vote be counted. But the outcome should be decided by voters, not a protracted legal process. I would not give up this fight if there was a chance that we would prevail. But it is now clear that even when all the provisional ballots are counted, which they will be, there won't be enough outstanding votes for our campaign to be able to win Ohio. And therefore, we cannot win this election."

Perhaps this makes Kerry's decision more understandable.

That's a good point.

However, one should not forget that Kerry belongs to the same group Gore Vidal calls the "property party". As Mr Vidal put it, "In the US we have one party,- the Property Party,- with two rigth wings,- Republican and Democrat". (quoting from memory)

We ain't got no real opposition in this country,- which, frankly, especially at the moment, makes it all the more frightening.
